Dr Flavia H. Santos
Dr Flavia H. Santos is a neuroscientist, Assistant Professor and Ad Astra Fellow at the University College Dublin. Member of the Irish Children's Research Network and nominated Research Fellow at the Geary Institute for Public Policy. She serves as Director of the UCD MSc in Disability and leads the UCD Music and Math Cognition Laboratory. Her research is focused on factors that impact maths learning, e.g., maths anxiety and developmental dyscalculia. She investigates interventions to overcome low numeracy. Currently, she is the Principal Investigator of the Arithmós Project funded by the Irish Research Council. Dr Santos is the Chair-Elected of the Mathematical Cognition and Learning Society (MCLS). She advocates for women in STEM
Dr Erika Galea
Dr. Erika Galea is founder and director of the Educational Neuroscience Hub Europe (Malta). Her goal for the Hub is to raise awareness and improve understanding of brain development, within the context of teaching and learning both in the school and workplace environments. Dr. Galea holds a Ph.D. in Psychology and Human Development from University College London and an MSc. in Educational Leadership, focusing on Distributed Leadership, from the University of Leicester. Her area of expertise is emotional intelligence, particularly focusing on the application of strategies for regulating emotions by teachers in the classroom. Dr. Galea has recently been conferred the title of Honorary Research Fellow within the Department of Psychology and Human Development at UCL's Faculty of Education and Society, Institute of Education, University College London.
Nikolaus Conrad
Nikolaus (Klaus) Conrad is CEO and founder of Headstart Technology Limited. With a background as a classroom teacher in Music and IT, he transitioned to a successful corporate career, working with leading global companies in the field of KPI and big data analytics, with a specialization on systems design and cloud architecture. Headstart brings together his passion for tech and education. He has a particular interest in games and game based learning, and is a Minecraft Global Mentor as well as a Microsoft Education Fellow. He is a member of the Faculty of ICT board at the University of Malta, as well as a board member of Junior Achievement Malta. He also lectures at the Institute for Education and the Malta College for Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST)
